The kick-off meeting of the project 'Partners for Africa' was held on 20 February 2004 in Vienna, Austria to coincide with the Fourth Meeting of the Global Forum on Sustainable Energy. Minutes of the meeting are now available for downloading.

The kick-off meeting of the project 'Partners for Africa' (Project No. INCO-CT-2003-502257) was held on 20 February 2004 in Vienna, Austria, on the occasion of the Fourth Meeting of the Global Forum on Sustainable Energy (GFSE-4), 18-20 February 2004. This setting was chosen in order to provide the consortium partners with the opportunity to establish and deepen contacts and cooperation links with stakeholders engaged in the field of 'Energy for Poverty Eradication and Sustainable Development'. In particular, cooperation links have been initiated between 'Partners for Africa' and several energy related Type II Initiatives launched at the World Summit on Sustainable Development (WSSD) in Johannesburg, such as the EU Energy Initiative, Global Network on Energy for Sustainable Development (GNESD), Mediterranean Renewable Energy Programme (MEDREP), Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership (REEEP), Global Village Energy Partnership (GVEP) and the Global Forum on Sustainable Energy (GFSE).
